Making A Moving Checklist For Your Domestic Removal

Making A Moving Checklist For Your Domestic Removal

09Feb 2015

When you are moving house, there can be a lot to remember, and with all that can go wrong, it is very easy to get stressed out by the things that have been sorted and those that haven’t. In fact, one of the main points of stress will be when you can’t remember which need to be sorted, and which have been completed! Without a doubt the best way to avoid this is to have a plan and a tickable checklist that corresponds with it. Some people like lists, some people like time tables, and they all do the same job in terms of ordering and segmenting the removal into a manageable series of tasks that result in the job being done properly. You will need to have a think as to which way of ordering things you think will work the best for you, and it can often be the case that you go through a couple of options before you settle on something that you think is correct for you. For a start, you need to give yourself time time in order to develop your list, and complete it, without feeling anxious that you won’t get it all done. This means leaving a decent amount of time in advance of the point at which you would normally start packing, as this is when it gets a bit too busy and too late to really get in to making lists and time tables etcetera. You will need to ensure that you are not without the space and time to think carefully and clearly, as missing items for the removal off the list will only leave you with more confusion further down the line. Reducing the likelihood of this will mean that you end up with a well structured and perfectly ordered removals checklist, and you will be more than able to ensure that you are not getting stuck with things left to do on the day of the move.Allocate each job to a day in the run up to the removal. If you have started early, this should mean that you are not at risk of having to do too much each day, and you will find that the process is a rather relaxed one. However, there is a lot to be said for ensuring that you are doing enough towards the end, and not doing too much too early, as over packing a couple of weeks before the move may mean that you have to unpack things in order to live your day to day life in your home! Leave the kitchen packing until last, and leave out things like clothing and bedding that you will need up until the day of the removal. You can chuck all of these last minute bits in the same box, as they will all have to come out first anyway. When you are going through the moving checklist, you may want to include things like who in the family has to do the job, and combine the trips to the shops with the school run, in order to save time and effort, as well as fuel. Working out ways of doing these things that little bit more efficiently will ensure that you are able to get the job done with the minimum of wasted time and money, ensuring that there is nothing that will get in the way of your house removals being safe, efficient and easy!
